Reasons To Buy

Compact design:

Many people prefer having treadmills that consume very little space. When you fold the Merax JK1603E, it takes only 25 by 22.5-inch footprint and 53 inches standing tall. It makes the machine tiny and compact.

Light and portable:

This machine is not enough sturdy and strong like other treadmills with extreme reputation. The Merax JK1603E is easy to move around your workout space. It is super easy and light in weight.

Dirt cheap:

The treadmill price is just over $200, which makes it one of the cheapest treadmills in the market. If you have budget issues, then it is good for you. It contains many amazing features at a very affordable price. However, while buying a treadmill, you should not only look at the budget. As you may buy the cheap treadmill and then soon you will have to buy again.

Large cupholders:

Another feature this treadmill give is the large cupholder. While performing a workout, you will not have to worry about keeping your water bottles near you. Do your workout with full focus without any interference.

Quiet motor:

This machine is equipped with a 500-watt motor. It is so unusual to have a power measure in watt as in most treadmills, power comes in horsepower or even best in continuous horsepower. However, its motor is so quiet operating so that you can enjoy watching TV while doing work out.

What we don’t like

Reasons To Avoid

Shaky construction:

When you look at this treadmill, you will find out that it is not up to the standard machine. You may find a huge difference between this machine and the other treadmills available in the market. Its both arms and base appear to be undersized. Most of the customers have also complained about its sturdiness.

Narrow running belt:

The running belt of Merax J1603E is only 14 inches wide, which is very small comparatively. If you have ever used the standard size belt treadmill, then you will find it small.

Not reliable:

This machine has an overall 3.4-star rating. Many users have also reported about its console and motor failure. You may find some major issues even after the usage for a few days or a week, which is not good. So, it is better to get something better that will stay with you longer.

Warranty issues:

Although it is declared that the motor and frame contain a warranty of almost one year, however, it is not as much easy as it seems. When you make a warranty claim the Merax says to contact Amazon and Amazon says to contact Merax. We know that no one wants to face such things, especially those who never compromise on their fitness.

Low-speed range:

The maximum speed of this treadmill is below the standard and is almost 6.2 mph. For regulars, the treadmill must offer a minimum speed of 10 mph. Well, this might be good for light jogging and walking but not for running.

Too small:

Many users have reported that the Merrax treadmill is tiny. Even if you are petite or 5’5”, you will find it small too. Its running belt is also just 14 inches wide and 44 inches long. At the same time, the average treadmill is almost 20 inches wide and 55 inches long. It can also go to 22 wide and 60+ long.

Many other similar treadmills at the same price contain enough power of the incline. This unit contains three incline settings; however, you need to adjust them all manually. Locking pins available in the feet of the rear in the treadmill give adjustment after work.

Need of Adjustment:

If you are planning to get this treadmill, you must keep in your mind that you will have to perform a lot of adjustabilities. If you don’t want to get yourself in this trouble, then don’t go for this treadmill.

Is it a manual or electric treadmill?

The Merax JK103A is an Electric treadmill.

Do I need to put a mat under it?

You can but it’s not necessary. We have carpet on our floor so we don’t have one but it’s also so light weight that it shouldn’t cause any damage to floors.

It’s definitely narrower than a traditional treadmill, but it’s certainly wide enough to run on. Just keep an eye on your footing.

Speed: 1KM/H – 10KM/H, 0.62MPH – 6.2MPH

How do you get the auto program to work?

Mine does not work. Doesn’t seem worth bothering with anyway.

Does it incline?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the incline capability. It’s set up on a slight incline but cannot be adjusted.
